One of the better NY style pizza's I've had in LA. Will need to go back to make sure it wasn't a one off.

Have been here twice, once my wife and I and the second time we took friends there before going to the theater. The pizza very good on the first visit and we had spaghetti and sauces the second time, which were also very good. Seth a very good and helpful server, Alexandra (goes by Alex) is the owner and very friendly with a great sense of humor. The restaurant is on Ventura Blvd and generally one can find parking on the street in front of or a block or two away. Enjoy the restaurant, we will be back and we ordered food to be delivered for an upcoming party.

It's Italian day ! A quick stop @ Antonio's on ventura ! We ordered an Antonio's special pizza and meat ravioli , food came out piping hot , the pizza was delicious and loaded to the max with sausage , ham, olives and more .... And the raviolis were very meaty, the house merlot paired perfectly with our dishes . Very fast and friendly service, plenty of parking outside and at the back , it took me back to my last visit to Italy ... perfect to bring the family and romantic enough for a date ...mangia!

Awesome location on Ventura with awesome service. One of the last true old-school sit down pizza / Italian spots. Wouldn't be out of place in NYC suburbs. Prices are decent and menu is varied. Dessert menu is comically large and items we got were good. The odd part was they make bar style pizza. Not bad but not what most would expect. Would order pasta or veal next time.

Amazing old school Italian in the valley! Great low-key, but classy ambiance, great service. We split the garlic knots appetizer, eggplant parm, and an individual pizza with side salad (anchovies on the side for me!), and it absolutely did us right. This is gonna be a repeat for sure. At 5 on a Sunday, not too crowded or noisy either.

This place is bomb! I have Celiac and I found this place on "Find me Gluten Free" app and it's been a perfect match since then! We do order delivery a lot but the few times we've been in and dined, the service was awesome! Inside is awesome! I forget to take pictures but I will tonight. I just ordered food for delivery!! I appreciate the owners taking the time to allow people like me, who don't have a choice about gluten, to feel included. I've developed anxiety, since my diagnoses of Celiac, about going out to eat with friends. I feel like I hold people back because of all of my allergies and this restaurant helps me be "kinda normal" and feel like the rest of the group about ordering. Usually it's salads and vegan options at restaurants. Last time I checked, I'm not a rabbit and I am not a vegan. I have enough allergies, I want to eat all the protein I can, and all the bad food I can!

Although I am straight from the capital of Hungary (Budapest) in Eastern Europe; I spent much of my formative years in Youngstown, Ohio - the mafia capital of America. The city was and still is the home to some of the highest concentration of Italian immigrants, which means that even though I am Hungarian; I know REAL Italian cooking from the nonnas. This has resulted in favoring the old-country style Italian dishes versus the Americanized, Hollywood-jazzercised Italian (although, I admittedly like the glam version, as well). If you too seek a hearty, home-cooked Italian meal, then look no further than the Valley staple, Antonio's. Antonio's has firmly held root in Sherman Oaks for 60 years (!!) near the Ventura/Woodman intersection under the recognizable Italy-boot sign. Family owned and operated, Antonio's has passed down generations and survived everything from the Northridge earthquake to the Covid-19 pandemic. Quite the feat as the turnover rate of restaurants on Ventura Blvd is faster than the blink of an eye. Staying true to the home-style theme; Antonio's is a comfortable 'old school' restaurant with fake grape vines and oil bottles hanging around the perimeter, red (checked) plastic tablecloths and framed photos of the family and celebrity run-ins. You can picture a mob family smoking cigars and discussing business here. And I mean that in the best way possible: you don't always need a fancy LA dining experience. My dining partner and I arrived shortly after 6pm on a Tuesday (note: Antonio's is only open until 9pm) and were greeted by a male I assume is the part-owner (he had that aire) and were seated in a corner booth ready to fill our bellies with Italian food. Now, we HAVE to talk about this menu because it is extensive! Yes, it has the usual: appetizers, salads, pizzas, pastas, entrees (chicken, veal), sandwiches and seafood; but, the amount of dishes available under these categories go on and on!  There is so much to choose from! Even more glorious is that Antonio's hooks up the gluten-free crowd (I am Celiac)! All of the pastas can be substituted for rice pasta, the dishes use garbanzo flour, etc. This is probably the MOST gf options I've seen at ANY restaurant, let alone Italian, where it is usually limited to either pasta or gluten-free pizza crust. Antonio's does charge extra for gluten free substitutions like all restaurants (which I think is insane that those of us who are sick are punished but that is another story) but the extra cost is worth it in comparison to the wide selection. For our dinner, we splurged and purchased a bottle of Kungfu Girl Riesling Wine ($32) and ordered the free Yelp Check In offer of Risotto Balls for my friend because I can't have the gluten (spinach, risotto, peas, onions and mozzarella breaded and fried served with marinara - $14 if not with check in). My friend chose the Beef Lasagna ($17) while I went with the Gluten Free Chicken a la Marsala (chicken breast dipped in garbanzo flour, cooked in butter and marsala wine with mushrooms and lemons served with salad - $24 for regular, I can't find the GF price online). I don't even know where to begin discussing the food because I want to excitedly shout about it from the rooftops! First of all, the wine was the best Riesling we've ever had! Even if you aren't a fan of white wine, this will blow your mind. The Risotto Balls were GORGEOUS in their plating and equally fantastic in taste, according to my friend. His lasagna portion was HUGE and under what seemed like a gallon of sauce, which means it was definitely a bang for his buck. He loved it so much that he cleaned his plate just short of licking it. As for my Chicken a la Marsala... It was the BEST DAMN CHICKEN MARSALA I HAVE EVER HAD! The chicken was tender, light and airy but flavorful without being overpowering, and the garbanzo flour was light as a cloud. The sauce was the perfect texture and ratio of marsala to butter to lemon. The rice noodles stuck together slightly, but I did not mind. My friend, who is not even remotely gf, agreed that it was sinfully delicious! Holy hell! I could eat this every day! I planned to save some to take home, but I ate it all. If you have any room for dessert, Antonio's propensity for a wide selection is extended to their sweets with SIX pages of desserts and THREE pages of gluten-free, vegan and 'no sugar added' desserts! Are you kidding me?! Antonio's is heaven sent! Service was average: not bad but nothing to comment regarding. Antonio's is absolutely fantastic with its authentic Italian dishes, comfortable old-school esthetic, extensive menu selections and the most gluten-free accommodation I've experienced to date. We absolutely plan on returning to try other dishes and desserts (if we can save room in our stomachs!).  If you crave Italian in the Valley without those Hollywood bells and whistles, Antonio's is IT! I expect them to be around another 60 years.
